An invitation letter is more often than not needed if you are going to Canada to visit a friend or family member. All you require to do is ask your friend to send you an invitation letter. Send them all the information manually and let them write the letter. I recommend that you ask them to mail the letter to you by usual mail, and then you can place the letter with the stamped envelope in your application package. The stamped envelope is significant for the reason that it makes it shows some form of authenticity. Though, previous to mailing out the letter, ask your friend to scan the signed letter and send a copy to you via email. You will use this copy if you do not take delivery of the mailed letter on time. My friends and family have used the scanned copy a couple of times and it has worked for them. However, I suggest that you use the original copy if likely.
Your letter must include the following information about the person being invited:

* The purpose of the trip.
* How long the person you are inviting intends to stay in Canada.
* Details on accommodation and living expenses.
* The date the person you are inviting intends to leave Canada.
* Complete name.
* Date of birth.
* The person’s address and telephone number.
* Your relationship to the person being invited.

Your letter must also include the following information about the person writing the letter:

* Complete name.
* Date of birth.
* Address and telephone number in Canada.
* Occupation.
* Whether you are a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident
* A photocopy of a document proving your status in Canada.

Who Is Eligible? said...

To visit Canada, you must:
•assure an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit
•have sufficient money for your stay. The quantity of money you will need can differ with the circumstances of the visit, how long you will stay and whether you will reside in a hotel or with friends or relatives.
•have a legitimate travel document, for example a passport
•be in good physical condition
•convince an immigration officer that you have ties, for example a job, home and family, that will fetch you back to your country of origin

I met someone while i was in India on business. He was on vacation visiting his family and was staying in the same city as I. He works and lives in Dubai but is a citizen of India I would like to invite him for 3 weeks to visit me in Toronto and to see a little bit of the country. I am a Canadian citizen and live at home with my parents. He will be staying at our home and most of his expenses will be paid for. Do you think there will be issues with him obtaining a visa? Is there anything I should know to include or not to include in my letter of invite? Should I purchase the plane ticket for him and will it help him with his visa? Please help, this is my first time doing something like this and not sure what to expect and how things should be done. I appreciate any help i can get. Thanks.

Hi, I would like to know what are the things that satisfy the visa officer that the person will go back to his home country. I am a Canadian citizen and my parents applied to obtain a visit visa twice but was refused saying the visa officer is not satisfied that you will go back at the end of the visa. They want to apply again but I want to make sure that we include all the correct documents and details. Thanks

I plan to visit my brother in Vancouver anytime next year but hesitant because we were denied last year. We recently traveled to the US late last year and plan to push through going to Canada by 2012. Thanks.

My sister, my wife, and I are living in Vancouver, BC as students on study permit. I have no other siblings. I would like to bring my parents here for few months as visitors. I can give them a letter and I have sufficient income to cover it. Regarding ties to the country, they own a 6-story building at the capital of the country. I am wondering, what other ways they can show ties to country? My father has retired and mother is house-wife. Thanks

Comrade said...

They have property in their home country, as you said a big building in capital city. I think its a sufficient proof of their ties to their home country.

I think its better to have an official invitation letter from a Canadian citizen. You may find info on the official website of Canadian Immigration

I'm a permanent resident in Canada and wants to invite my mother to visit here. My husband and I were working except that I'm on Maternity Leave right now. I live with my husband and my 2 kids but we don't own a property, we were just renting a four-plex with two bedroom. My question is do you think that would affect our application for visit visa for my mother considering that we want her to stay in our home not in a hotel?

Enfield said...

As per my opinion it will not effect your case. Your case is strong as your mother is coming to take care of you during your maternity period

Hi,
I am a canadian permanent resident for over 2 years, and I will get married this summer so I would like to invite my parents, brother and friends for the event. My sister and I had a Refugie case about 6 years ago here in Canada that end it up in an deportation order for both of us. I got the permition to return as a permanent resident but my sister didnt applied for it so she is still an inadmissible person so she wont come for the wedding. But I want to know if my family and friens dont have a chance to get the visit visa because of this? Do you recomend to try or do you know if is 100% sure that they may not get it?

Thank you,

Make a letter yourself and notarized to any lawyer. Some lawyer u can pay only for $20 to $30 depends on your provide lawyer. It's just notarized anyway. U can do one letter and copy the other one for yourself. Then u can submit the letter to the person u want to invite and submit all the requirements to the nearest visa office.

Anonymous said...

If your husband's income qualified to sponsors yes it's possible. As long as you promise to provide everything including the medical insurance, food and live to your home.

Anonymous said...

Yes it is necessary

Anonymous said...

Yes it is. I notarized mine to sponsor my parents. It's way faster to sponsor no questioning and it's only 4 weeks in process to get super visa. Maybe it's not necessary. Why not take a risk it's not that expensive.

Anonymous said...

U can't. Wait till I get your PErmanent residency. That's the only easiest way.

Anonymous said...

Sponsoring girlfriend is Impossible. Unless she will apply as a tourist by herself. Because there is a tendency that u will marrying her. Or she can apply working visa as a chef. It is highly demanding job in Canada.
